The Services
Not everyone is interested in spiritual work, and that’s ok. I have done the “purely scientific” ways of training and rehabilitating animals in a professional capacity for nearly 2 decades. Yet, I believe there is a key piece missing, this spiritual/soulful element, which is what causes the divide in the training world between positive and punitive methods. I now feel it unethical to not offer everything I can do to help my clients on both ends of the leash. For those who are interested, I would like to offer this service as part of the triad of most successful dog training: skill-building, socialization, and soul-purpose fulfillment (yes, I work with other animals, too).
Animal Communicating & Shamanic Healing
For dogs struggling with anxiety or hyperactivity, nervous system dysregulation, escaping from trauma, experiencing physical pain, healing after a fight or medical procedure, recovering from neglect or abuse, and so much more, shamanic healing methods can provide the missing piece of the puzzle. It looks like this in a nutshell:
-
Trauma - Soul Retrieval
-
Illness - Extraction
-
Dying - Psychopomp
-
Lost sense of purpose - Soul Remembering

There is so much more that can be brought in with this work, but these are the most common “prescriptions” I work with. The work is beautiful, non-invasive, has no negative side-effects, and seems to be supportive for the whole family. The benefits are innumerable, and consistently positive — though perhaps somewhat unpredictable. Empowering the soul benefits the mind and body, so having such interconnected expectations are too complicated to be realistic. Working in tandem with psychological and medical treatments makes everything work better. Soul work does not replace modern medicine, but improves it.

When we incorporate the shamanic element into dog training, or any animal husbandry, even a simple walk becomes an opportunity for spiritual connection between human, animal, and the wonderful natural world around them. Since arriving in Santa Fe in March of 2025, I feel this is a place where this new evolution of animal custodianship can be possible, thrive, and grow.
