Pet Dog Training

There is nothing wrong with having an informal, beautiful, loving relationship with your dog purely as a pet, a companion. However, fulfilling a pet dog is still an important part of a happy life together. My Pet Dog Training program focuses on teaching basic, but essential life skills you can use at home and on your walks or other outings to enjoy each other’s company, keeping everyone safe and having a great time. I consider a dog out of the puppy stage as soon as they’ve finished teething, around 6 months old, and the oldest dog I’ve ever worked with was 17 years young! You absolutely can teach an old dog new tricks!!
My program focuses on addressing common issues like over-eager-greeter syndrome with guests or encounters on walks, being hyperactive or destructive due to boredom, and helping your dog integrate seamlessly into your routine. There are some basic obedience cues that can be an essential part of that process, but finding ways to keep your dog mentally enriched and satisfied is a key element of dog ownership I see overlooked time and time again. I address things like door dashing, pulling on a leash, not coming when called, demand barking and begging, and so much more.
This program is for all dogs, whether you purchased them from a breeder or rescued them from the shelter. It can also be a great way to get started preparing for other things down the road, like therapy and service dog training.
